CARAVAN OF HEALTH FOR POPULATION IN THE VILLAGE

 Prevention Centre of Health Center in Nis, in cooperation with the Palilula Municipality, in July, organized “CARAVAN OF HEALTH”. This time, health care will be closer to the population in the rural area of the Palilula Municipality. With plan of activities, preventive medical team of the Health Center in Nis began his medical mission in the settlement Pasi Poljana. The team of CARAVAN OF HEALTH performed a free examination of interested people in the premises of the old school in the period from 09:00 to 12:00 hours. It was performed: control blood pressure, blood sugar control, measurement of body weight and height, BMI-level determination of nutritional status, learning about the risk factors for the development of heart disease and vascular disease, diabetes and certain malignant diseases, consulting dietitian in order to prevent obesity;

SAFE HOUSE AND POLICE OFFICES IN PALILULA

 Palilula Municipality in early fall, will be richer for the two institutions. In the part of the Institute for the Education of Youth Nis, that the City took over for new purposes with the support of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and Ministry of Interior, will open the first regional safe house in the area of south-eastern Serbia, and a police office Palilula. The contractor on the adaptation of the building "safe house", which covers about 400 square meters and will accommodate up to 40 women and children victims of domestic violence, is the construction company “Monument Engineering”, Nis. INTEGRATION OF ROMA POPULATION IN COMMUNITY

 Within consideration of the activities of the social position of Roma in the local communities of Serbia, Jovan Damnjanović, deputy, chairman of the Democratic Left, of Roma in Serbia and vice president of international Roma organizations, with associates visited Palilula Municipality. On this occasion, president of Palilula Municipality, Prof Dr Igor Novakovic, with guests and representatives of the city, visited a Roma family in the settlements "Crvena Zvezda", "Stocni trg" and "Mramorska".“Our municipality, as one of five organizations of local self-government of the City of Nis, it is very responsible on the full integration of Roma in society” - said Prof Dr Igor Novakovic.

"SAVE THE HEALTH WHILE WE ARE HELTHY"

 Prevention Centre of the Health Center in Nis within the program of education of women for self examination of breasts, which is organized under the motto “Save the health while we are healthy”, has organized a lecture and distribution of educational material for women employees in the Administration of Palilula Municipality.
On this occasion is presented the instructional film and it was provided on the medical model as a simulation of the early detection of changes in the body. Program of health forums such as “caravan of health” was organized in June and July for all the population of the Palilula Municipality, and in the urban areas and in the rural areas.

TERMS OF PAYING DEBT FOR SPENT ELECTRICITY UNDER

 In the Hall of Cultural Center Nis (NKC), under the initiative of Palilula Municipality and member of Council Milos Stojkovic, it is organized the second meeting of the presidents of Citizens` Councils of the Municipality and the management of ED “Jugoistok-Pogon- Niš”; in order to evaluate the possibility of more favorable settlement of debt for the consumed electricity. Action of exclusion of electricity that is currently made by ED “Jugoistok” in households that have not settled their obligations, it is worried citizens, particularly vulnerable population of the municipality. On this meeting it was asked from representatives of sale service of ED “Jugoistok” Niš that this company to not to be excluded, but allow the settlement of current debt under conditions that respect the material situation of citizens and the possibility that in these situations may apply.

RESOURCE CENTER AT SCHOOL "14.OKTOBAR" OPENS WAY TO EUROPE

 Organization “Internationaler Bund” in Frankfurt, which provides services and support to people with disabilities, young people from marginalized social groups through Germany, and in 14 countries in Europe and 4 countries of Middle East, it organized a meeting where is introduced the concept of the future project of cooperation in the region. In work of this conference participated and delegation of Serbia. Member of Council of the Palilula Municipality, Zorica Stoiljković and special educator and rehabilitator in school “14. October” in Nis, Jovana Stajković, presented to the presidency of this organization project activities that is realized in cooperation with local authorities as well as the proposition of project for future cooperation.

MUNICIPALITY CONNECTS ELECTRICITY CONSUMERS AND DISTRIBUTORS

 During a recent meeting of the citizens of the Palilula Municipality with President Prof Dr Igor Novakovic, as one of the problems of people in the localities, it was stated supply of electric energy. PRIMARY HEALTH CARE IN GUESTS TO CITIZENS

 Around a hundred people population of Palilula were able within project “Health Bazaar” on Saturday, June 12 at the Palilula Municipality, to check their health for free on the spot. This project of health promotion and healthy lifestyles, which is realized in the organization of the Health Center Nis and supported by City of Nis and Palilula Municipality is intended for all residents of the city, especially to active working population. At the Bazaar of health in Palilula interested citizens were able to measure blood pressure, blood sugar levels, find the percentage of fat mass in the body, the degree of renal function, to review moles , determination of bone density, to educate for self examination of breast cancer and healthy styles life.

SAFETY FOR PEDESTRIANS WITH NEW TRAFFIC SIGNS

BIG CLEANING OF PALILULA

 Under the motto “Big cleaning of Serbia – Care of community for nature”, in the Palilula Municipality it was held a big job cleaning action. This activity at the national level was initiated by the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning of Serbia, on the occasion of World Environment Day - June 5, and national activities “Clean up Serbia”. The city of Nis has formed City headquarters of action, which is coordinated by Miodrag Radovic, member of City Council, and in five municipalities of Nis were appointed coordinators of the campaign. This action was organized in cooperation with the Public Utility Enterprise “Mediana” - sanitation sector, “Green Network of City of Nis”and media EKOpolis network, promoter of world environmental campaign “Clean up the world”.

 On the occasion of June 5 - World Environment Day and the City celebration in the City Hall of Nis under patronage of Mayor of City of Nis and Palilula Municipality, it is opened the seventh International Festival of Ecological and Archaeological Film "Ekopolis Fest 2010“. This unique film event, which has already become a tradition, has opened one of the founders of environmental movement in City of Nis and the region, Prof. dr Radivoje Mancic, president of the Institute for Studies „Ekoman“.
He remained on the development of environmental thought and education for sustainable development in Nis and initiatives that have had impact in the region, especially in the protection of natural resources, and Sićevačka and Jelasnicka gorges, canyons of rivers Temštica and Stara Planina.

Palilula has sang and played with “Saita” and “Mambe” KUD “ORO” ensembles “Orange Band” and “Hetrik”. Thousands of people-guests of this unique manifestation with sadness spoke about “old town” and about plans of life and work in the new Palilula who walk to Europe. FOURTEEN BENCHES ON BUS STATION IN MOKRANJCEVA STREET

 Mokranjceva street, stretching from the church of Saint Nikola to Vidikovac, last week got a new contents. Within program of activities on the arranging of inter - block space, Palilula Municipality funded setting fourteen benches on the seven bus stops in this street and initiated the arrange of inter – block space with other attractions in the settlement (set up of trash baskets , arranging park` area, planting new avenues ..)
President of Palilula Municipality Prof Dr Igor Novakovic and president of the Assembly Milan Djurdjevic, with associates, visited this settlement. Regulation of bus stops in Mokranjceva Street it is not beginning of action- emphasized president Novakovic. We have already done this in the street, “Dusana Popovica”.

PALILULA IS BIG CONSTRUCTION SITE

 Activity of management Palilula Municipality more and more is achieved with direct contact with citizens on the ground. President of Municipality, Prof Dr Igor Novakovic with his associates visited the locations in settled area in Palilula where it began works on building of new infrastructure network. First he visited the village of Suvi Do, where is at the moment preparation of the ground for a street paving and construction of water supply and sewerage networks. Recently, in this place, because of the state of collapse, removed the building of House of Culture, which was only free space for social activities and residents gathering. Svetislav Petrović, a member of Assembly in Palilula Municipality, who lives in Suvi Do, informed the President that in this settlement of Palilula Municipality, according to the census from year 2002 it is registered 935 people with 321 households and that there is a citizens initiative to re-build a new object for the activities of local offices and other associations.

LED DISPLAY SET NEAR PALILULA`S MARKET ON RAMP

 Towards “Palilula night”, president of Palilula Municipality, Prof. dr Igor Novakovic and the member of Municipal Council Milos Stojkovic, visited the workers, that finishing works on the construction of aesthetic regulation fences and gates of east side of the Old Nis`cemetery “Gorica”. It was set and the bulletin board at the gate with the inscription of this complex, which is since 1987. placed under the protection of the law and represents a significant cultural property.Anyway, after three decades of "stillness" in 2009. began with the implementation of a three-years project "Regulation of the Old Cemetery" which financing is approved from the budget of the City of Nis. In year 2009 it was completed the restoration activities, organized cleaning of this space and works on the "eastern gate" and in the first half of 2010 it is continued with regulation of this space.
